Mr. Loewen has actually practiced law for over 38 years, focusing the areas of oil and gas, business and property law. In the oil and gas market, his experience includes both onshore and overseas work for drilling & production operations and the sale of properties across the continental United States. Mr. Loewen's experience consists of, but is not restricted to, the following: Experience as both In-house counsel and outdoors counsel for major and independent oil and gas companies, and prior to different State companies (Workplace of Preservation & Mineral Board); Preparation of Drillsite and Department Order Title Viewpoints; Pooling and Unitization work (Forced Pooled Units, Declared Units and Voluntary System Agreements) Transactional work, including preparation of Joint Operating Agreements, mergers & acquisitions, due diligence, preparation of PSA's and monetary files for M&A's, mineral leases and advancement agreements (leases, farmouts, participation arrangements, operating arrangements, and so on); Complex lawsuits at trial and appellate levels; General operations experience in the Gulf Coast Location, Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Ark-La-Tex, California, Rocky Mountains, Gulf of Mexico, Pacific Ocean and other areas, including:( 1) The sale and acquisition of multi-million dollar oil and gas residential or commercial properties (wells and pipelines), group leader for due diligence evaluations and preparation of associated documents;( 2) Title evaluation and opinions( most just recently for the LA Haynesville Shale and Tuscaloosa Marine Shale),( 3) preparation of leases, farmouts, joint venture agreements, processing contracts, gas contracts, drilling contracts, and other arrangements for development, operation and production of minerals;( 4) Natural Gas Pipeline agreements and regulative work and( 5) Practice prior to regulative agencies such as the Louisiana Workplace of Preservation, State Mineral Board and the FERC, and for ecological compliance in connection with drilling and production operations; and Significant multi-million dollar M&A's include:( 1) South Oklahoma wells and facilities bought from Amoco, resulting in buyer being the largest oil producer in Oklahoma, (2) South Belridge Field, California, obtained from Chevron and( 3) Monroe Gas Field, Louisiana, which was then used to introduce the Ener, Vest IPO.
